Customer Proposals: From Vendor Quote to Client-Ready PDF

After collecting vendor quotes, contractors still need to build a customer-facing proposal with their markup applied. Steelbridge generates this document automatically from the approved specs and selected pricing.

Customer Proposals are generated from within the project page. Select the vendor quote you're building the proposal from, apply your markup, and the system creates the proposal document automatically.

Proposal workflow

Proposals move through a clear status workflow:

  1. Draft: Proposal created but not yet finalized
  2. Ready: Reviewed and approved for sending
  3. Sent: Link delivered to the client
  4. Viewed: Client has opened the portal link — updated automatically
  5. Accepted / Rejected: Client decision recorded

Supporting attachments

Attach supporting files to any proposal — engineering drawings, site plans, product spec sheets, or previous correspondence. Attachments are visible to the client in their portal view.

Automatic view tracking

When the client opens their portal link, the proposal status automatically updates from "Sent" to "Viewed." You get that signal without needing to send a follow-up email asking if they received it. From the project page you can see at a glance whether the client has looked at the pricing.
