Drawing Annotations: Pin Comments on the Exact Spot

Bid reviews involve a lot of back-and-forth on specific drawing details. Annotations keep those conversations attached to the exact spot on the drawing rather than buried in an email thread.

Click anywhere on a drawing to drop a pin at that precise location. Coordinates are stored as x/y percentages so the pin lands in exactly the right spot regardless of how the drawing is scaled or displayed.

Threaded conversations

Each pin supports threaded replies so back-and-forth on a single question stays organized in one place. Common uses:

  • Flagging spec conflicts ("door height in spec says 12', drawing shows 14'")
  • Questions for the engineer or estimator
  • Review notes from a project manager before approval

Resolve and reopen

Once a question is answered, mark the pin as resolved. Resolved pins stay visible but appear grayed out so you can tell at a glance which issues are still open. Reopen any pin if the question resurfaces. Edit or delete your own comments.

Badges and visibility

Annotation count badges appear on thumbnail cards in the Plans Room grid and text views, so you know which drawings have notes without opening each one. Inside the drawing preview, an Annotations tab in the sidebar shows a count badge when there are unresolved items — a quick visual signal that something needs attention.
